STI Muñoz Bags Victory in The 2018 Tagisan Ng Talino and Tagisan Ng Sining!

Victory goes to the ones passionate to grow. That was what our three students demonstrated as they represented STI College Muñoz-EDSA and Cluster 2 in the 2018 Tagisan Ng Talino (TNT) National Level held in STI College Vigan on March 2, 2018 joined by 78 campuses nationwide.

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology student Nathaniel Ocular took home the champion’s trophy as he stood and delivered his message inspired by the topic ‘The Spirit of Bayanihan among Millennials’ in the category Stand-up and Deliver, an extemporaneous speech contest. He mentioned that social media is a means of millennials in propagating bayanihan; and that simple posting, commenting, or vlogging, in social media can influence many.

Another pride of our school is Worth the Whisk 2nd Runner-Up Winner Arvie Dela Victoria, a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management student who made use of the colors of the Philippines, the Pre-Spanish writing system Alibata, and the symbolic bahay kubo to show that if he will be given a chance to create his own graffiti, it will be about him being a proud Filipino. Worth The Whisk is a competition on cake decorating where our student used boiled icing.

Eunice Raquintan, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology major in Digital Arts student was also one of our students who were chosen for the National Finals being one of the Top 10 Finalists of Shutters’ Best in the Tagisan ng Sining (TNS) in STI College Vigan. She expressed her thoughts about Arts in Heritage as she showcased her photography skills.

Furthermore, another student, Joshua Ponce of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology won as the 1st Runner-up in the Essay Does It Cluster Level Competition held in STI College Cubao last February 2, 2018. He made a name in the category by sharing his message about climate change and focusing on more natural ways of living; therefore motivating others to take responsibility of their actions.
Other categories are Think Quest, Chef’s Express, All in Place, Into Programming, App and Running, and Director’s Cut.

These students proved that winning is never impossible when there is passion to go further. Their triumph is proof that it only takes courage to excel, and that itself is winning. Truly, our students have been an inspiration to all others who strive hard for excellence and growth.
In STI College, students are given the privilege and opportunity to not just learn and grow, but also to share what they know and have for their empowerment.
