“AND THE WINNER IS…STI”
From the previous article titled “The ratios are 9:5:2, makes any sense?”, the inspiring stories of two STI’ers were told. That was the time when they were aiming for their dreams: one aimed to become the Miss STI 2012 and the other one intended to become the STI Idol 2012. Now, after the stiff competitions and nerve wracking waiting time for the judges’ decisions in National Finals of Talent Search, our very own Ms. Joressa Babanto and Ms. Ann Christian Santander hold the titles of Miss STI 2012 (2nd Runner Up) and STI Idol 2012 (2nd Runner Up), respectively. These two proud STI’ers are now the women of the hour.
2nd Runner Up? Did they win? YES, Joressa and Ann did! Before they performed in the Enchanted Kingdom stages, Joressa and Ann are the champions in the Local Talent Search of STI College Muñoz EDSA. Moreover, they competed in the Regional level of the said competitions where Joressa and Ann also won and bested 8 other STI Colleges. And if we are talking about National Finals, we are literally talking about the competitions of the “bests” among almost 100 schools Nationwide! Before getting there in the National Finals, they had to win first in the local and regional levels.
Aside from the title, Joressa also won two special awards: Miss Freego 2012 and Miss Slimmers World 2012, while Ann heated up the stage with her rendition of the song “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson and her winning concert-like performance. Topping all these technicalities, Joressa and Ann are true winners because they are the same persons as how their classmates and teachers have known them: kind, hardworking, humble, proud STI’ers and most importantly, God fearing individuals even after the grand competitions.
“AND THE WINNER IS………..STI!” Yes, this is very true. After all the competitions, all of us, STI’ers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, have won because year after year, our school, STI, is blessed by God with Talented and Beautiful STI’ers, which is something that we can be proud of. Mabuhay ang STI!
